Waterfall kitchen island

A waterfall island. The top carries on down to the floor in the same slab, and the veins run round the corner thanks to a 45° mitre.

The job

The top and the end panel are cut from a stone with a white background, broad brown, grey and green patches and thin dark veins. At the corner the pattern carries on down the side. There's a long workstation sink in the top and a big slab of the same family behind the hob.

The mitre

Both pieces are cut at 45° and glued with tinted resin, and the joint ends up under a millimetre. The two pieces have to come from side by side on the slab. We decide that on the slab layout, with you there or on a video call. Natural stone can't be reordered identical, so there's no second go.

The sink

We cut the inside corners round, a sharp corner is where cracks start, and polish the edges for an undermount sink.

Weight

3 cm stone is about 80 kg per m². The units have to be built for it.

Frequently asked questions

Another question? Call the workshop: 07 45 20 76 39

Can both ends have a waterfall?

Yes, if the slab is long enough for the top and both ends from the same area. We check on the layout before buying.

Will I see the joint?

A hairline up close. At arm's length it disappears.

Can I choose the slab from abroad?

Yes, we send photos and a video of the actual slab before cutting.
