Stone kitchen worktops and islands
Kitchen worktops, islands, splashbacks and carved sinks in marble, granite, quartz or Dekton, made…
A stone sink in the same marble, granite or quartz as the worktop, so the bowl and the top look like one piece. We carve them from a block or build them from mitred panels.

A carved sink comes from the block. We hollow out a thick piece of stone, at least 20 cm deep, with diamond tools. No joints at all, but very heavy. Best in marble and some limestones, for a solid farmhouse sink.
An assembled sink is built from panels. The bowl is made from pieces of the worktop slab, mitred at 45° and glued, then hung under the top. From above it looks carved, underneath you see the joints. The colour and veins match exactly and it's much lighter. Most kitchens get this one.
Instead of a steel drainer we cut five to seven grooves into the stone beside the sink, falling a few millimetres to the bowl. On marble they'll mark faster than the rest, because water and washing-up liquid sit in them. Not on printed Dekton, they cut through the pattern.
The water in the Aube is hard, and limescale shows most on dark polished stone. Honed, a lighter stone and a quick wipe help.
We drill the waste at the workshop and shape the bottom to fall to it. An overflow is possible on a carved block, harder on a built one, and many people go without. Taps go in the top behind the bowl or on the splashback.
Sink and top arrive together. A built bowl is glued and supported under the top, a solid block sits on a reinforced cabinet. Your plumber connects the waste after. We need the actual sink cabinet in place to measure.
The same carving gives our marble basins. See granite worktops or call +33 7 45 20 76 39.

It can be, but it's heavy. More often the bowl is built from mitred panels of the worktop slab.
Granite. Marble works if you don't mind marks.
On dark polished stone, yes. Honed or a lighter stone shows less.
