Old houses in Troyes

The timber-framed houses in the old town are rarely square. A kitchen wall can be a centimetre or two out over three metres, so we never cut from a drawing. We measure once the units are in and level. A 3 m marble top in 3 cm is close to 160 kg, and on an upper floor with a winding stair we may need a joint. See marble worktops.

Lakes and Côte des Bar

Houses round the Forêt d'Orient lakes, 20 to 30 minutes away, and in the Côte des Bar ask for other things, pool coping, terraces, a worktop that survives summer renters. Outside, the Aube gets regular frost, so we use dense stone with a non-slip finish. See pool coping and terraces.
