Dekton
Dekton is a Cosentino slab fired without resin. It takes heat, sun and frost, so we suggest it for outdoor kitchens and behind a hob. Its weak point is the edges.

What we make
Kitchen worktops, outdoor kitchens, splashbacks behind the hob, vanity tops and shower trays. It absorbs practically nothing, needs no sealer, and wine or coffee won't stain it.
Thicknesses
Slabs go up to about 320 × 144 cm. For a worktop, 12 mm gives a very slim top on continuous support, 20 mm copes better with knocks, 30 mm is for a chunky look.
The edges
It's hard but brittle. A cast-iron pan or a bottle hitting a sharp edge can knock out a chip, so we put a small chamfer on the edges. A small chip can be filled with tinted resin, but the repair shows close up, especially on a plain colour.
The pattern
On many designs the pattern is on the surface. The edge and the inside of a sink cut-out show a plain body in a different colour. If you want a visible edge or an undermount sink, we pick a range with the vein through the body.
At the workshop
We cut it slowly, with a diamond blade or a waterjet, and round the corners of the sink cut-out, otherwise it cracks sooner than stone. Some designs take an induction hob under the surface. That's decided before ordering the slab, following the maker's rules, never afterwards.
Care
Water and ordinary household cleaner. Metal marks from a pan come off with a mild cream cleaner.

Frequently asked questions

Dekton or quartz?
Quartz contains resin that dislikes heat and sun. Dekton has none, but its edges chip more easily.
Can Dekton go outside?
Yes, frost and UV don't bother it. That's why we suggest it for outdoor kitchens.
Does the vein go through the slab?
On many designs, no. For a visible edge we choose a range with the vein through the body.
